What are the recommended devices for the Rental Inspector?
For the app
The Rental Inspector app is available for mobile devices with iOS (Apple) or Android operating systems. A tablet (such as the Apple iPad) ensures the best user experience.
We recommend a memory of at least 256 GB, 512 GB or higher is even better.
If you prefer to use a smartphone, you will need one with a screen size of at least 6".
You can find the app in the App Store (iOS) or the Google Play Store (Android) on your device. You can download the apps for free, but you will need a paid subscription to use them.
Recommended tablets:
- Apple iPad (from the 6th generation onwards)
- Apple iPad Mini (from the 4th generation onwards) - our favourite
- Apple iPad Air (all models)
- Apple iPad Pro (all models)
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, S9, S10
- Samsung Galaxy Tab A8, A9, A10
Do you use a different, recent Android tablet? Then it is quite possible that the Rental Inspector app will run smoothly, but we cannot guarantee it.
Be sure to watch out for budget models. These tablets often have insufficient memory and processing power to run the app smoothly. And the camera is not always optimal either.
Do I need a tablet with SIM card?
Some (versions of) tablets offer the option of using a SIM card, so you can always stay online via the mobile network (4G / 5G). This is certainly a nice extra, but not a requirement for the Rental Inspector. A tablet with WiFi only is also fully suitable for use with the Rental Inspector. After all, no internet connection is required to create a rental inspection. The choice is therefore yours.
Rental Manager
In addition to the app, there is the Rental Manager. This is 100% cloud software that you use in a modern browser, such as Google Chrome or Apple Safari. So you don't need to install anything on your laptop or PC. What's more, you can also use the cloud software via the browser on your tablet, for example.
